One of the daily challenges of this trip was trying to figure out how far we were to the next destination. We relied on the printed map from travel guides and books. We also relied on the posted signs. But those were not always reliable. Even going into the police station and asking the police officer was not reliable. So, a constant question in our mind was, are we there yet? Sometimes, it was a pleasant surprise! Just like seeing the sign which says "Welcome to Fonglin"!
